Parking garage is definitely one of many areas in the building, where lighting system upgrade will save a lot of money. The lights in the garage are on for 24 hours per day. At current energy cost the pay back for retrofit to LED technology is not greater than 18 months. It can be even shorter when taking under consideration maintenance cost, and incentive programs encouraging changes to energy efficient green products. Some of our clients show the return on investment shorter than 14 months.
The LED retrofit of parking garage should be first and most important project on the list for property managers wanting to reduce operating cost of running the property for the benefit of tenants or owners.
Below are the pictures of the parking garage where the standard canopy high pressure sodium light was retrofitted to our LED lighting. In this particular case the energy consumption was reduced from 275 W to 56 W in each fixture. Our HTS series LCL9R LED board was used in this application.
